There are two ways for a glider to get into the air. Generally it is pulled up by winch, but if the task requires a higher altitude, the aircraft is towed up. There are some flight schools where they do the glider training with winching only. In Western Europe countries they are not familiar with the concept of winching. In these places there is a real need of tug pilots. We recommend this training to pilots who would like to build their times for their future trainings and career.
